What does it mean to appreciate our bodies when they begin to perform differently? How do we navigate the tension between ambition and acceptance? And how does our relationship with our bodies evolve through different seasons of life?

Behind the Scenes

The Approach
After reading Good for a Girl by Lauren Fleshman, Kelly felt a renewed determination to confront her own relationship with body image.
There is an ongoing, often invisible battle that many women face around their bodies. As athletes, we're taught to trust our bodies, yet we're constantly receiving messages about how they should look. Kelly had explored similar themes in a previous project with her college soccer team, and found herself returning to the same idea: what if we viewed our bodies through appreciation rather than criticism?
Through intimate portraits of women in motion and reflection, the film explores the complex, often contradictory relationships we have with our bodies. Rather than focusing solely on achievement or transformation, the project celebrates the bodies that have carried us through injury, change, growth, and aging.
We used slow motion intentionally throughout the film. Running is often portrayed through speed, performance, and results. We were more interested in the details that are easy to miss. Slowing these moments down allowed us to see the body not as something to judge, but as something remarkable in its own right.
Released as a social-first campaign in June 2026, Love Letter was created by an almost entirely women-led crew and features real runners rather than actors. Grounded in lived experience, the campaign aims to offer a more honest portrayal of women, movement, and the evolving relationship we have with the bodies that carry us through life.
